Ecora Releases Active Directory Module for Enterprise Auditor 3.0 Suite

Automatically collects critical Active Directory configuration data to report on and track changes across all Organizational Units and Group Policy Objects

PORTSMOUTH, NH - June 2, 2003 - Ecora, the leader in total configuration management, today announced the release of an Active Directory (AD) module for its Enterprise Auditor 3.0 suite, an integral component of Ecora's Total Configuration Management (TCM) solution. With the AD module, users can automatically collect AD configuration data across the enterprise to run reports, track changes, provide a more secure environment, and create up-to-date disaster recovery documentation.

"More and more companies now rely on AD for their directory service requirements and there's a growing need to provide a solution that manages the critical changes that constantly occur across all AD objects," said Alex Bakman, CEO of Ecora. "Group Policies, a key component of AD, provide a lot of power and flexibility to control user actions which inevitably leads to complexity and risk for IT administrators and managers. With our AD module, users can effectively manage AD changes to provide a more stable and secure environment while significantly saving time and reducing cost."

In addition to AD, the Ecora Enterprise Auditor 3.0 suite allows IT administrators and managers to automatically collect critical configuration data from the most important elements of the IT infrastructure (Cisco routers and switches, all flavors of Windows, NetWare and Unix systems, DBMS systems like Oracle and SQL Server, application enablers like Citrix, IIS web servers, and MS Exchange and IBM Domino mail servers) to a cross-platform configuration repository. With this data, users can report on and track changes to all key configuration settings across the enterprise allowing them to know exactly where changes are happening, authorized or not, and what the configurations were before the chang(s) took place.

In addition to the flexible, customized reporting options offered in Ecora Enterprise Auditor 3.0, the AD module provides dozens of out-of-the-box reports critical to managing AD servers, including: ?Group Policy Report: Have Group Policy settings changed or are Group Policies being created, modified, blocked, or deleted? The Group Policy Reports identify settings for any policy. ?Group Policy Links Report: This report quickly provides a listing of where all Group Policies are applied. ?Permission Changes Report: Want to be notified when permission changes occur in the Active Directory environment? Schedule a change report for permissions on Active Directory objects and set an alert to be notified when the changes are found. ?Domain Controllers (DC) Report: Connecting to network resources taking a long time? This report identifies which DCs are Global Catalog Servers and to which Site and Organization Unit each DC belongs. ?NTDS (Active Directory Database) Report: Provides a comprehensive AD database topology report by providing a list of all the replication partners and the transport(s) they use.

"We have a corporate mandate to have all of our servers, applications, and workstations in compliance with ISO 17799, a comprehensive set of controls comprising best practices in information security," said John Moore, network technician, IPC Communications Services. "As a result, we turned to Ecora for a cross-platform configuration management solution to automate a process that is not feasible manually. For AD, we need to specifically monitor users and permissions and track changes. Ecora's AD module will help us do this while also allowing us to save resources."

The Enterprise Auditor 3.0 suite, in combination with Ecora Patch Manager, comprises Ecora's Total Configuration Management (TCM) solution suite. The TCM suite is a proactive and holistic approach to securing the IT infrastructure and reducing operational costs through multi-platform configuration reporting, change monitoring, and patch management.

The AD module for the Ecora Enterprise Auditor 3.0 suite is currently available with pricing starting at $9.00 USD per user up to 500 users. Ecora's TCM solution suite, Patch Manager, and other Ecora Enterprise Auditor 3.0 modules including Windows, Unix, Linux, NetWare, Cisco, MS-SQL Server, Exchange, IIS, Citrix, Oracle, and Lotus Domino are also available.
