NeoWise Software releases RoboTask 2.4, a Windows-based application that
automates routine operations, now with a set of new features and
enhancements suggested by end users.
NeoWise Software today announces the release of RoboTask 2.4, an automation
tool for the Windows OS. RoboTask lets anyone regardless of their computer
knowledge automate any combination of tasks on the PC. This may range from
application launch to file backup, folder sync, email retrieval and
processing and anything else you can imagine. Complex automations may
involve conditional IF/ELSE statements, loops, custom variables and other
advanced options. The best thing is that you can set up automations right
out of the box without the need create complex scripts or batch files.
RoboTask provides a visual interface and over a hundred of actions that can
be selected and combined into a task in a point-and-click fashion.
What's New in Version 2.4?
Version 2.4 further expands RoboTask's functionality with a string of new
useful additions and enhancements. "One of the principles we build our
business on is collaboration with end users, whose suggestions help us
deliver the product that best addresses their needs," says Oleg Yershov,
lead developer at NeoWise. "The development of version 2.4 has been driven
by their requests. RoboTask has acquired a new plug-in for work with a POP3
server and analysis of email messages. Now its actions let you easily
organize, for example, a server that will receive commands by email. We have
also added "Import Registry" and "Export Registry" actions that expand the
backup abilities. Also, customers will discover new actions to synchronize a
task with other tasks and processes. They are called "Wait for File", "Wait
for Process."
RoboTask at a Glance
RoboTask makes the process of automation refreshingly easy. Clicking on the
Create New Task icon in the main window starts a wizard-style dialog that
assists you in selecting an action, customizing its behavior and setting up
an action trigger. Currently, RoboTask offers over a hundred elementary
actions, which you can combine into highly complex sequences that fit your
specific automation needs. You can automate file operations like copy, move,
rename; manage automatic backups; schedule and run FTP and Web server
operations, etc. These automations may be enhanced with loops, conditions,
and the use of a BASIC language interpreter allows power users to add
virtually unlimited functionality to RoboTask's jobs. These jobs may be
launched manually, scheduled to run automatically, or can be configured to
be triggered by a wide array of changes in your PC. The program may run as
an NT service.
