Harris Corporation Introduces NetBoss Agent Manager(TM)
New product lowers operational costs by efficiently automating management of device parameters
MELBOURNE, Fla., Nov. 8 // -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global provider of turnkey resource management and service assurance systems, today introduced NetBoss(R) Agent Manager(TM) (NAM), a new Resource Management product that extends the capabilities of its flagship product, NetBoss Manage.IT(TM), by incorporating efficient, policy- based automated management of critical device parameters. NetBoss Agent Manager allows network managers to establish the conditions that represent trouble areas on the network, and continually monitors incoming events and determines which management policies, if any, have been violated. Operators are then notified of those violations through a set of notification options including configurable NetBoss(R) alarms, SMS or text messages, or email.

NetBoss Agent Manager offers multiple benefits. Its user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for rules creation enables operators and technicians, rather than software engineers, to create policy-based rule sets. This simplifies management agents and lowers operations support costs. Once rules are created and activated, device parameters supplied by Harris Smart Agents are automatically evaluated to generate events and reports, lowering operator workload, automating monitoring, and further reducing operations costs.
