The application is a Visual Basic program for installation on a local PC and incorporates statistical process control and historical database archiving. The CaptivATE software package, and QuadTech's Guardian 6000 Series Analyzer, combine all the electrical safety and functional testing of electronic products into one test setup. Using a bar code scanner to identify a product model and serial number, a test setup can be quickly loaded and verified, thus eliminating the possibility of a test operator selecting the wrong test. Unique to the CaptivATE product is its ability to automatically control the line voltage and frequency to the device under test through a programmable AC source. This software will also print and electronically store all measurement results and test certificates as well as product information such as model number, serial number, time and date, test name, and test operator. Three levels of password protection are incorporated (test operator, engineer, or administrator), allowing accessibility based on personnel training and specific functions to be performed. Multiple test stations (plant-wide or global) can share the same database, providing a central location that can be updated in real time.
Other features include an intuitive graphical user interface for easy, efficient operator use plus historical database search capability for tracking and trending test results. A virtually unlimited number of tests with up to 990 steps each can be stored, searched and recalled. The Quick Test function verifies a single test without running all the individual steps within a test setup.
