Kaplan(TM) Financial Launches Compliance Management System Generation 2(TM)

o Automated, Intuitive Workflow for Management of Insurance and Securities Licensing, Appointment, and Registration Compliance

CHICAGO, Oct. 16 -- Kaplan(TM) Financial (www.kaplanfinancial.com), a leading provider of education and compliance solutions to the insurance and financial services regulatory markets, announces the first release of its Compliance Management System Generation 2(TM) (CMS G2(TM)). This new, Web-enabled system will provide true automated workflow support for the licensing, appointment request, and registration processes associated with insurance producers and securities representatives at insurance companies, insurance agencies and securities firms.

"Kaplan Financial is a pioneer in automated compliance management, and we are well positioned to introduce the next generation solution to the industry," said Andrea Mainelli, President and CEO of Kaplan Financial. "This is the system that our clients, and the industry, have been asking for."

CMS G2 will help companies enforce the unique state and federal compliance requirements. It also will reduce the time to process NASD U-4, U-5 and branch registration transactions and company data sheets, including appointment requests with attachments such as continuing education course completion documents. As a result, distributors, carriers, and firms will get their producers actively selling products sooner -- and without interruption.

CMS G2 will enable electronic data exchange among producers, carriers, agencies, broker/dealers, and regulatory entities. The software will seamlessly integrate the critical tasks and workflow associated with managing the producer/representative lifecycle by automating and streamlining five key areas within a firm in a single, integrated system:

o New hire processing
o Licensing, registration, and appointment processing
o Broker/dealer or agency/insurance company data exchange
o Compliance maintenance
o Evidence of firm element and insurance continuing education completion

The first release of the CMS G2 functionality is the Employment Management module that allows companies to:

o Link distribution channels and carriers for the purpose of submitting
appointment requests, company data sheet information, licensing-related
transactions, and other hiring-related forms
o Enable securities firm resources, such as compliance officers and
agents, to enter forms U-4 and U-5 and branch registration data as part
of the electronic submission of information to the NASD and
o Create flexible, configurable workflow options so insurance producers,
distributors and carriers can communicate appointment and producer
information under a standardized technology.

J. R. Berry, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Kaplan Financial's Compliance Services division adds, "CMS G2 provides true multi- step automated workflow support, beginning with the on-boarding process and continuing throughout the producer/representative's career. The system ensures that all steps are completed properly -- and thoroughly documented to ensure compliance."

CMS G2 is available now. To learn more, please visit www.kaplanfinancial.com or call 1-800-428-0682.
