ClearApp Advances Application Performance Management Automation with Release of QuickVision 7

New Functionality Enables Customers to More Quickly Isolate, Resolve Performance Issues

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 21 -- ClearApp, the only company offering Application Performance Management (APM) Automation(TM) for portal, J2EE and SOA applications, today announced the general availability of QuickVision 7. Leveraging the patented AppSchema(TM) modeling engine, ClearApp's industry-changing product provides deep diagnostics tools that automatically tie directly into its unique APM model. The enhanced diagnostics capabilities advance ClearApp's ongoing vision to automate all the key steps of application management, delivering quicker time to value for managing and deploying applications.

QuickVision 7 features Transaction Analysis, allowing IT personnel to isolate the exact execution steps of a specific transaction. Transactions that are either too slow, have an error or are executed by a specific user can be isolated, tracked and analyzed. Coupled with the AppSchema model, Transaction Analysis can also display architectural diagrams as well as process workflows and application path analyses of individual transactions, a group of problematic transactions or all transactions aggregated together for quick and easy problem determination.

According to Gartner, Inc., "IT operations management, IT architects, developers, business analysts and application managers attempting to manage new applications or architecture-based applications will find modeling technology useful for improving availability and performance, and reducing costs."(1)

QuickVision 7 also includes advanced Exception Tracking, a new feature for monitoring for errors and performing automatic deep analysis when they occur in managed environments. Users receive alerts when specific exceptions occur and can drilldown on specific exceptions to view the associated stack trace.

"QuickVision enables everybody that cares about application performance, from top-level executives to support engineers, to view the service-level measurements they're most interested in," said Chris Farrell, VP of Marketing and Product Management, ClearApp, Inc. "With the addition of Transaction Analysis and Exception Tracking in version 7.0, users of all knowledge levels can easily identify abnormal conditions and find the cause of application and system exceptions quicker than ever before."

QuickVision 7 extends ClearApp's unique advantage in APM Automation by providing customers with a more robust foundation for broader customization of dashboards and console views. With flexible form templates, including six new out-of-the-box forms, the QuickVision User Interface can now address a wider range of display requirements, allowing IT and business line managers to work together to address performance issues in real time.

Other notable new features in QuickVision 7 include:

o Web Service Remote Portlets (WSRP) Relationship Tracking - Tracks WSRP
consumer-producer relationships, enabling IT personnel to monitor and
manage portal application performance in distributed (or federated)
portals

o WSRP Topology - Allows users to visually explore WSRP consumer-producer
relationships and WSRP deployment topology

o Service-Level Objective (SLO) Blackout - Prevents unwanted alerts from
firing during planned or unplanned down time

o Memory Leak Detection - Automatically calculates memory growth rate and
tracks memory growth trend to detect the presence of production memory
leaks

Usability Enhancements

QuickVision 7 now stores maximum and minimum response time measurements in its embedded database in addition to average response time measurements. The maximum and minimum metrics, if present, are displayed in QuickVision's unique GUI. Other improvements include:

o An improved portal desktop layout view, enabling faster identification
of performance bottlenecks with tabular views

o An improved business process workflow view, enabling faster
identification of performance bottlenecks with automated delay analysis

o Improved Comparison Features for Delay Analysis and Reporting

QuickVision 7 has extended custom metric support to allow users to inject any metric they desire into the application models - and additional features (such as wildcarding) make it quick and easy to introduce larger sets of metrics.

Availability and Pricing

ClearApp QuickVision 7 is available immediately. U.S. list pricing begins at $9,000.
