Quadramed Announces Abstracting General Availability
RESTON, VA - (December 4, 2003) - QuadraMed® Corporation (QMDC.PK) today announced the general availability of QuadraMed Quantim® Abstracting. Developed as an advanced information management tool, Quantim Abstracting enables users to capture, structure and perform detailed analyses of clinical data. Product testing was conducted at Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC), a 258-bed community hospital in Hickory, North Carolina.
"Successful testing of a new product such as Abstracting always creates challenges that require the hospital and vendor to have a close working relationship," said David Boone, CVMC Chief Financial Officer. Quantim Abstracting enhances data collection for patient visits, and significantly improves the quality of these data to give providers greater insight into patient encounters. This fully scaleable product is a core module of the Quantim HIM suite, utilizing the same central database, which streamlines workflow in full HIPAA compliance for single or multi-facility healthcare institutions. At CVMC, Quantim Abstracting, Coding, and Compliance have been integrated into the medical center's health information management system.
