Panoratio Offers First Pure Software Solution for the Data to Information Challenge

Complex Data Comes Down to the Desktop Giving Users the Ability to See 'Everything by Everything'

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 6 / -- Panoratio Database Images, Inc. today announced the release of its database imaging technology in the U.S. market. Panoratio's patented technology is a pure software solution that enables analyses of entire complex databases to be run in-memory on a conventional PC or laptop computer without losing any detail or richness contained in the source data. The Dynamic Correlation Engine immediately presents information and highlights hidden, significant relationships that might otherwise be missed. This provides organizations an unprecedented ability to discover meaningful and actionable information from their vast data stores.

"Enterprises are dealing with more data than their current applications can effectively handle -- analysts are making trade-offs of time versus expensive computing resources and leaving valuable information buried inside their vast data stores," said Brett S. Kilpatrick, CEO of Panoratio Database Images, Inc. "The ability to immediately correlate every dimension by every other dimension allows our customers to surface information that they use across a wide variety of applications -- from optimizing the output of a power plant to saving lives through better disease management."

Panoratio's new standard file format, the portable database image or .pdi, allows enterprises to fully leverage existing database and storage investments by providing complete data sets in a flexible, fast, powerful format. This enables users to query all of the data quickly, iteratively, and across a virtually unlimited number of instances and dimensions. Because the .pdi file is anywhere from 30 to 1,000 times smaller than the source data, Panoratio's customers can now distribute the entire data set throughout their organization or easily and securely syndicate it to their end customers.

Unlike other database analysis tools available today, Panoratio's software leverages the complexity of the data to develop critical insights that drive competitive advantage. By applying Moore's Law to data, Panoratio has developed the solution that will allow enterprises to create small, dense images of virtually unlimited amounts of data from a production database into a manageable standard file format, the .pdi, enabling users to:
-- carry or distribute an image of the entire database and run numbers anywhere, anytime, quickly and easily on a laptop
-- derive absolutely accurate information
-- leverage 64-bit computing environments to create super computers in software

Pricing and Availability
The Panoratio .pdi Solution, including the Panoratio Generator and the Panoratio Explorer are available immediately. Pricing starts at $35,000.

About Panoratio Database Images, Inc.
Panoratio Database Images, Inc. was founded out of the Siemens Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning laboratory where the challenge of analyzing data from the Power Generation division was first posed. Current technology solutions proved inadequate to the task of making immense, multidimensional databases accessible while enabling faster and more accurate analyses. The resulting solution, deployed today throughout Siemens Power Generation plants worldwide, is what is today the PDI Generator and its output, the data dense .pdi file format.

Recognizing the value of the solution, Siemens spun-off the company with inventors Drs. Reimar Hofmann, PhD and Michael Haft, PhD in 2003. In 2004, Panoratio closed a round of funding of 3.2 million Euro from 3 of the largest VC firms in Germany. With 6 customers in production in 2005, Panoratio has closed its A+ round of funding, with investors that include Siemens Venture Capital, Silicon Valley, and initiated North American operations.
