DB2 Connect® Unlimited Edition for iSeries is the industry-leading solution integrating iSeries data with client-server, Web, mobile, and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) applications. It delivers unified application development, integrated data, and pervasive data functionality to IBM iSeries customers.
Unified application development: As a programmer, you can now build applications that work with an entire DB2® family using programming languages and application framework of your choice, such as .NET, J2EE, and SOAs. DB2 Connect:
Provides a complete set of industry-standard APIs and drivers (ADO.NET, ODBC, OLE DB, DB2 CLI, JDBC, SQLJ, and Embedded SQL) for C#, Visual Basic.NET, Java, C, C++, COBOL and other programming languages. It provides transparent unified access via SQL and standard APIs to other data sources (federated database support).
Improves programmer productivity by delivering a set of tools that integrate into leading Java, .NET, and PHP Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).

Integrated data access: Gives you the ability to work with data stored in multiple databases as if it was a single DB2 database.
