Intervox(R) Introduces First Miniature SMT Speakers


Hauppauge, NY -- Intervox, a division of International Components Corporation, has just introduced what is thought to be the first miniature SMT speaker, model #SR800SMT.

Ideal for applications such as cell phones, PDA's and other hand held devices, voice activated equipment speech recognition systems and GPS navigational systems, Intervox's miniature SMT speaker delivers big sound in an incredibly small package.

Extremely low profile, the SR800SMT speaker measures 20 mm x 20 mm x 4 mm and weighs just 2.6 grams. Performance features include an SPL of 74 ±3 dB at .5 meters, a frequency range of 600 - 11 kHz, and a nominal power rating of 100 mW. Intervox's miniature SMT speaker uses high temperature plastic which is 30% glass reinforced resin, resulting in excellent toughness and a heat deflection temperature of 289°C. This material is well suited for use in the automotive, electrical/electronic telecommunications and aerospace industries. Three solder contact points provide a highly reliable connection.
