Slow Strain Rate Testing Now Available at IMR Test Labs
IMR Test Labs is pleased to announce that we have added Slow Strain Rate testing to ASTM G 129 to our extensive list of Corrosion Testing services. All types of metallic materials can be tested in a wide range of liquids at temperatures from ambient to 100°C. Slow Strain Rate testing is utilized to evaluate the susceptibility of metals to Stress Corrosion or Environmentally Assisted Cracking by simulating in-service conditions of mechanical stresses, aggressive environments and elevated temperatures. Also referred to as Constant Extension Rate Testing, this method is used for rapid screening and comparative evaluations of environmental, processing or metallurgical variables. This type of corrosion simulation is useful in industries with corrosive in-service environments, including the Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing and Nuclear Power industries.
