PITTMAN® Introduces EC044A Series of Slotted Brushless DC Motors

High-Performance Motors Offered in 44-mm Diameter Package

HARLEYSVILLE, PA – PITTMAN® Motors, a business unit of AMETEK Precision Motion Control, has introduced its latest offering in a broad range of DC brush and brushless motors: EC044A Series of slotted brushless DC motors.

The EC044A Series is designed with three motor lengths and 24 winding variations to suit most every project.  Custom lengths and windings are available to further maximize exacting end-product requirements.

EC044A motors have use in scanning and winding applications, pump and compressor products, medical equipment, and industrial automation products.  The Series’ compact size and high power density makes it suitable for portable medical, industrial equipment and power tools.

The EC044A motor body measures a compact 1.7-in (44 mm) in diameter and is capable of no-load speeds of up to 15,000 RPM. The small motor is rated for a continuous output torque rating of up to 15 oz-in (0.11Nm).

The overall motor construction is a combination of aluminum and a 400 Series stainless steel shaft. The 4-pole rotor is built using high-energy neodymium magnets. An internal circuit board supports hall sensor feedback spaced at 120 electrical degrees.

The EC044A motors easily adapt to PITTMAN’s line of encoders, brakes and gearboxes. With available AMETEK gearbox technology, output torque as high as 4400 oz-in (24Nm) can be obtained.

Other standard features include preloaded, shielded ball bearings, low detent (cogging) torque, low vibration and quiet operation. Versions equipped with a drive, higher IP class, and other mechanical and magnetic variations also are available.
