SingTel Optus Looks to Performance of Intec BSS/OSS for Further Growth

SingTel Optus Benefits from Intec's Converged Retail, Interconnect and Mediation Technology

ATLANTA & LONDON--SingTel Optus, the second-largest telecom in Australia, with a mobile subscriber base of over six million customers, continues to partner with Intec (LSE: ITL) for further growth, based on its successful use of Intec's retail billing, interconnect billing and convergent mediation systems. The scalability and performance of Intec's technology has allowed SingTel Optus to grow at a steady pace in a highly competitive and mature market.

SingTel Optus has recently upgraded its Intec Convergent Billing system to the latest version (6.0). The carrier has been using Intec's retail billing system for the past six years to differentiate itself from its competitors and create valuable service options that attract and retain high-value customers. According to John Bickmore, Director of Billing Services for Optus, "One of the big benefits we have with Intec Convergent Billing is the ability to do the configuration ourselves. This reduces the cost and gives us much better understanding of the configuration."

"In mature markets where operators are faced with cutthroat competition, many operators are challenged with finding BSS/OSS technology that can help them differentiate their services profitably and at the same time cope with the rapid roll out of complex new services," said Intec Chief Operations Officer for Asia Pacific Norm Halvorson. "Intec Convergent Billing, Intec Interconnect and Intec Mediation are proven solutions in many of the world's largest wireless, fixed, cable and IP carriers, supporting hundreds of millions of events per day in our largest accounts. We're proud of our strong relationship with SingTel Optus, and we are confident of supporting their growth and development plans."

Intec's solutions have been chosen by over 60% of the world's top 100 carriers, including many leading players in the Asia-Pacific region. Intec invests heavily in both its core technology and its customer service capabilities on a global basis, including, for example, its expanding technical facilities in India which are delivering and supporting successful OSS/BSS projects to operators in Asia-Pacific as well as around the world.
