New Intel® Pentium® M 5.25" Biscuit Single Board Computer
Irvine, CA, July 16, 2004 - Advantech Co., Ltd the leader in embedded ePlatforms introduces a powerful new biscuit sized, compact, single board computer - PCM-9581. More and more applications need lower power consumption with high CPU throughput. PCM-9581 delivers the most needed features using the acclaimed Intel® Pentium® M processor with 855GME chipset supporting dual monitor output, to power today's and tomorrow's embedded computing applications.
PCM-9581 is centered on a powerful Intel® Pentium® M or Celeron® M processor with Phoenix® Award® BIOS that supports enhanced Intel "SpeedStep" technology and uses Intel's 855GME and ICH4 I/O chipset. These chipsets are specifically for embedded computing and provide an optimized on-board integrated graphics solution. "SpeedStep" technology intelligently focuses system power where the CPU needs it and automatically regulates power usage to preserve battery life.
PCM-9581 supports DDR memory up to 2GB with ECC (Error Correcting Code, for improved reliability and data integrity.) PCM-9581 has plenty of other on-board features including: AC97 compatible audio with full 20-bit 3D surround sound support, flexible I/O capabilities including 4 USB 2.0 connectors, 8 bit GPIO, 1 CompactFlash type I/II, 2 ATA100 EIDE, 1xRS232/422/485, 3x RS-232, plus 1 x 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet as standard. For expansion options there's, 1 x PCI and 1x miniPCI connectors. The Vcore 2 phase design, as well as watchdog timer ensures system stability and reliability. PCM-9581 uses socket 478 for easy CPU upgrades. Customers can decide on the best solution for price/performance.
