The PCM-6892-A10 is a highly integrated multimedia SBC combining outstanding computing performance using the VIA Eden 667MHz CPU and a competitive price. Owing to this board's great success, we made up not one but TWO Windows XP Embedded development packages to shorten your product development cycle.
The CPU incorporated into this board is the VIA Eden series EBGA CPU. Running at 667 MHz, this fanless (Eden series only) low power CPU performs at the highest standards. The built in L2 Cache offers 64 KB of memory, along with the front side bus running at 133 MHz. Other features include an AGP 4X graphics chip, two 10/100 Fast Ethernet LAN ports, AC '97 audio, two Type II PCMCIA slots, one CompactFlash slot and 4 USB 1.1 ports.
AAEON engineers have also created a sleek enclosure for this board, known as the AEC-6100B-6892. The enclosure comes with most of the I/O ports your application may need in a low-profile black box. The interior cabling is provided and the enclosure also comes with a 100-Watt modular ATX power supply. The chassis can be used as a freestanding unit or the included wallmount rails can be utilized.
On top of all of this, we added 128MB of Kingston® memory and a 256MB Kingston® CompactFlash® module with Windows® XP-Embedded OS installed using a basic configuration. The advantage of Windows® XP-Embedded is that it is a componentized version of the stable XP Windows® environment, able to be customized for your application. Three different configurations (compact, basic and advanced) of the operating system image are provided on the accompanying CD in compressed format, along with documentation, driver components and additional XP-E components usually found with XP-Pro. You will find the Windows® XP-Embedded development environment to be far friendlier, permitting both a lower Total Cost of Ownership and a quicker Time-To-Market.
The PCM-6892-A10 and Windows XP-Embedded development system can be ordered as a board/development OS/memory package or can be ordered as a complete system with the AEC-6100B-6892 enclosure.
