GE Fanuc Expands Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor - M VME Single Board Computer Offering



New SBC Delivers High Performance, I/O Flexibility, and Affordability in One Solution

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - May 26, 2004 - GE Fanuc Automation Americas, Inc., a unit of GE Infrastructure, has introduced the VMIVME-7851, a new 6U, dual-slot VME single board computer (SBC) that delivers high performance, I/O flexibility and affordability in one solution. The VMIVME-7851 integrates the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor - M and Intel® 852GME chipset with up to three standard PMC expansion sites (32-bit/33 MHz), enhanced parallel port, and optional dual channel Ultra160 SCSI and IDE hard drive capabilities. Operating at up to 2.2 GHz, the VMIVME-7851 is ideal for military and commercial applications demanding high bandwidth and multiple I/O interfaces.

The VMIVME-7851 offers front panel support for one 10/100/1000BaseTX Ethernet port, one 10/100BaseTX Ethernet port, one USB 2.0 port, two high performance serial ports and one PS/2 port. Other support includes Ultra DMA/100 hard drive and floppy drive controllers and up to 1 GB of CompactFlash memory. The VMIVME-7851 also provides two 16-bit, two 32-bit and one watchdog software programmable timers. Operating system support includes Windows XP®, Windows® 2000, VxWorks®, QNX®, LynxOS®, and Linux®.

GE Fanuc's VMIVME-7851 will be available for shipment in July.
