Simrit Expands Merkel Xpress Rapid Prototype Seal Service to Brazil


Provides a cost-effective solution for low-quantity customized seal production on short timeframe

ELGIN, Ill. - Simrit recently expanded its Merkel Xpress service to its Brazilian operations to assist customers in need of quickly manufactured customized seals. The Merkel Xpress rapid prototype and production cell was installed at the company's Diadema, São Paulo facility and can produce a variety of seals in a short timeframe, usually within 24 hours. The service will be supported by a team of sales, engineering, manufacturing and logistics professionals.

The Brazilian Merkel Xpress Computer Numeric Control machine is integrated with software to custom-produce seals with diameters ranging from 4.5 to 500 millimeters, including: o-rings; rod, piston and shaft seals; wipers; guide bands; and backup rings. Simrit will supply the domestic Brazilian market with 102 sealing profiles in the hydraulic product line and 21 in the pneumatic product line. A wide variety of materials can be used, including nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyurethane, silicone, fluoroelastomer (FKM) and nylon, in addition to other exclusive formulations.
