Unique SIM Card Connector with Card Carrier Tray from JST for GSM Mobile Phones


The new SCX Series, SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) Card connectors with card carrier trays from JST Corporation, Waukegan, Illinois, features a low profile, space saving design. The connector's contacts are designed with the solder tails arranged in a single row on 1.27 mm (0.05") pitch. Two tabs at the front of the socket provide reinforcement when fixing to either a PCB or FPC. Custom lead configurations are available and include; stand-off type, compression type, and offset type.

These low-profile SMT connectors are used in GSM protocol mobile phones, PDA terminals, and other GSM mobile applications. GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is the European and Far East/Asia unified standard for digital phones.

The contacts are made of a copper alloy and are selectively gold plated. The housing is molded of UL 94V-0 Nylon. The tray is made of UL 94V-0 PBT. Ratings for the connector are: 0.7 A AC/DC; 30 V AC/DC. The temperature range is -25° to + 85°C (including temperature rise in applying electrical current).

The SCX connectors are packaged on reels using embossed tape for use with automatic pick and place equipment. Trays are packaged bulk in bags.
