Signal Conditioners work with TEDS sensors.

Press Release Summary:

Multichannel Series 481 prepares measurement signals from piezoelectric sensors for input to recording or analysis instrumentation. Versions are available with read and write capabilities for TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) IEEE P1451.4 compliant charge mode and ICP® sensors. Options include RS-232 and RS-485 serial interfaces for daisy-chaining multiple units, and incremental gain which allows auto-normalizing each channel to English or metric units.

Original Press Release:

New Multichannel Signal Conditioners with TEDS Sensor Option

September 1, 2002, Depew, NY - The Series 481 Multichannel Signal Conditioners from the Electronics Division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., prepare measurement signals from piezoelectric sensors for input to recording or analysis instrumentation. Versions are now available which permit operation with and read and write capabilities for TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) IEEE P1451.4 compliant charge mode and ICP® sensors.

TEDS are mixed mode (analog/digital), self-identifying transducers that contain fields that fully describe the type, operation, and attributes of the transducer, and are typically used in large channel count modal and structural testing applications.

A building-block architecture and wealth of options permits users to custom tailor their units with features such as gain, filtering, integration, and computer control. Three pre-configured models offer a combination of popular features. All models install into standard 19 inch (482 mm) instrumentation racks.

In addition to TEDS functionality, other Series 481 options include RS-232 computer interface and RS-485 serial interface to enable daisy-chaining of multiple units, and incremental gain which allows for auto-normalizing each channel to English or metric units.
