SightLogix® Displays SightSensor Visible and Thermal Outdoor Detection Cameras

GPS-based Outdoor Analytic Systems Provide Accurate Detection in Any Environment

Las Vegas, NV - SightLogix®, Inc., the supplier of outdoor video
analytics systems for area and perimeter security, is displaying Visible and Thermal
SightSensor(TM) intelligent video cameras at ISC West this year. Long and wide-range
outdoor SightSensors provide a high probability of detection with low nuisance alarm
rates, and can operate in all weather and climate conditions, including rain, snow,
humidity, sand and temperature extremes. Each SightSensor camera incorporates
either a visible or a thermal imager, lens optics, electronic stabilization, on-board image processing, video analytics software, camera control, and geospatial target tracking, all sealed inside a ruggedized NEMA 4X nitrogen-purged housing.

"Unlike indoor analytics, which are designed to operate in static environments, the
outdoors is constantly changing," said John Romanowich, President and CEO,
SightLogix. "Our systems have been designed to recognize and address the unique
variables associated with outdoor surveillance, and meet our customers' needs for an
outdoor solution that is cost-effective, reliable, and easy to use."

Multiple on-board digital signal processors (DSP) communicate directly with the image
sensor to analyze the scene details of each video frame for better accuracy and
extended range. This extra processing power supports electronic image stabilization to
eliminate video shake, while compensating for low and changing lighting conditions in
the visible model. The processing power is also used to accurately detect objects in a
background of environmental movement such as leaves, shadows from clouds and
wind-blown objects. "Without effective image processing," said Romanowich, "the only
way to prevent nuisance alarms from these outdoor variables is to lower sensitivity of
the system, which directly impacts camera range and detection accuracy."

An additional element that SightLogix considers essential for accurate video analytics
outdoors is geo-registration. SightSensor cameras are registered to the scene with GPS
coordinates so they can accurately determine target size, bearing, and speed in order to filter out small animals and blowing debris, reducing nuisance alarms. SightLogix
systems also use geo-registration to display the coordinates of detected targets onto a
sitemap for situational awareness, and to steer PTZ cameras to automatically zoom and
track detected objects.

By providing a high level of imaging processing, each SightSensor camera can cover
wider areas or greater distances; as much as three times the coverage area of other
surveillance cameras. This means that SightLogix systems require fewer cameras,
reducing the supporting infrastructure (poles, trenching, networking, power, etc.) and
associated costs. As a result, SightSensor cameras lower installation, infrastructure and overall project costs by one-third versus alternatives.

The cameras integrate easily with third-party video management, physical security
information management (PSIM) and access control systems. Flexible and secure
communications include 10/100 Ethernet with support for satellite, cellular, wireless
(802.11 a/b/g) and full broadband communications, with AES 256-bit encryption and
SSL protocol.
