Original Press Release:

REGO-FIX Expands Line of Zero-Z Short Toolholders Beyond CAT 40

Indianapolis, Indiana, November 10, 2006 - REGO-FIX recently announced the expansion of its existing line of Zero-Z short toolholders to now include BT 30, BT 30 no drive dog, BT 40 and CAT 50. This extensive taper selection enables high levels of versatility for a variety of machining applications.

Aptly named for its machining capabilities, the flexible Zero-Z features an incredibly short projection, allowing for more z-axis stroke and greater workpiece size. The toolholder's unique design features a flush collet nut, whereby tool overhang is virtually eliminated. The Zero-Z is pre-balanced to G2.5 at 22,000 rpm and comes standard with REGO-FIX'S Hi-Q external clamping nut for added clamping force.

The Zero-Z is now compatible with the BT 30 taper, which is capable of clamping tool shanks ranging from 0.5 mm (0.0197") to 13 mm (0.5118"). The Zero-Z also supports the BT 30 taper with no drive dog. REGO-FIX was one of the first companies to offer a toolholder that does not feature drive keys, which is why this feature is especially unique to the Zero-Z line of products. The clamping capacity for BT 30 with no drive dog is the same as the standard BT 30 taper type.

The Zero-Z line has also expanded to include the BT 40. This particular size taper can handle tool shanks ranging from 1.0 mm (0.0394") up to 20.0 mm (0.7874").

REGO-FIX has also added the CAT 50 taper to its existing line. Collets in this series have a clamping range of 2 mm (0.078") up to 30 mm (1.1811").

Also available with Zero-Z is the REGO-FIX sealing disk system, which enables the use of internally cooled tools during the machining process. This system is compatible with the ER 20, ER 32 and ER 40 series of ER collets, and prevents dirt and chips from entering the collet cavity. The sealing disk system snaps into a coolant-clamping nut and forms a seal that will hold pressures up to 2,000 psi.
