Shopping at Coop Adriatica Is Easier and More Convenient Thanks to Datalogic!

Signed an Agreement for the Supply of 1,000 Joya(TM) Pods to Revolutionize Shopping at Coop Adriatica

Bologna, April 20, 2010 - Datalogic Group, through its subsidiary Datalogic Mobile, strengthens its partnership with Coop Adriatica, a leading retailer with 156 supermarkets and hypermarkets spread over Italy, under the agreement for the supply of 1,000 Datalogic Joya(TM) pods.

Joya(TM), the next generation pod for shopping designed by Datalogic, will be used at 6 Coop Adriatica stores, replacing older technology systems. Thanks to this innovative technology, Datalogic marks an important achievement with Coop Adriatica, which, thanks to solutions provided by this company in Bologna, can now guarantee customers a convenient, fast and interactive shopping experience.

The benefits of using Joya(TM) are many, starting with the fact that the products chosen by the consumer may be placed in bags directly inside the cart, as desired. The goods do not need to be transferred to the belt at check-out, ensuring prompt payment. Therefore, Coop members no longer need to wait in line thanks to the dedicated workstations at self-service payment.

Joya(TM) allows the customer to view the total shopping expenditure in real time with constant updating of the sales invoice. It also shows promotional items that are on sale in the store.

Thanks to Datalogic's services, Coop Adriatica can increase its competitiveness and attract new customers that are always more loyal, due to their satisfaction with the shopping experience and added value provided by Joya(TM), such as its information service and fast payment which it can guarantee.

This agreement confirms Datalogic's leadership in the Retail field, with installations in over 350 sales points between Italy (Coop, Conad, Carrefour, Auchan, Esselunga, Lombardini, Finiper Conad and E. Leclerc), France (Groupe Casino , ATAC and Carrefour) and Belgium (Delhaize Group and Carrefour). This shows the importance of market and customer knowledge, as well as the strong propensity towards innovation and constant and continuous growth.

Mauro Sacchetto, CEO of Datalogic Group, declared: "This newly-signed agreement further strengthens Datalogic's partnership with Coop. In fact, Salvatempo perfectly meets the needs of Coop's current clients and members, who appreciate more and more solutions that offer faster operation, while providing information at the same time, such as content and promotional offers to make the shopping experience informative, interactive and fun. This is made possible by Datalogic's continuous commitment in R&D technology solutions which are unique to the market, capable of simplifying and improving life in general".
