Shielded Flat Cables for Flat Displays

February 26, 2008

AXON' CABLE expanded its line of flat cable assemblies, named AXOLINK®, adding shielded assemblies including DF- 19 (Hirose) and FI / FI-X (JAE) connectors. These new assemblies are well suited for connecting displays with LVDS data interfaces.

AXOLINK® consists of flat flexible cables with tinned copper conductors and Polyester insulation. The evolution of the flat display market toward LVDS data interfaces has led AXON' to develop shielded AXOLINK® assemblies with 14, 20 and 30 conductors including DF-19, FX and FI-X connectors. Other connector
types are also available.

The shielding of these cables is carried out with a ground plane grounded on the connector, thus assuring a constant impedance of 100 Ohm for a very stable picture transmission. These cables are able to work at up to 1 Gbit when terminated with the appropriate connectors.

Axon' Cable designs and manufactures wire, cable and harness assemblies for a wide variety of interconnect applications including industrial, consumer, military,
automotive, aeronautics, space, telecom, medical, research and the oil industry. Our technologies include the fabrication of single, hybrid, round or flat cables
using advanced overmolding techniques and EMI protection.
