Applied Production, Inc. Announces Release of ProFab V3.7

Milford, OH - Applied Production, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of ProFab V3.7 Sheet Metal CAM Software. A leader in the programming of CNC Turret Punch Presses and Laser machines, ProFab now includes direct interfaces to SolidWorks 2004, SolidEdge 14 and CADKEY V21.5 (also includes a direct interface to AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop).

ProFab automates the programming process, utilizing an in-depth knowledge of your punch press or laser machine, tooling and manufacturing techniques, while keeping the user in control of the process. ProFab uses advanced techniques for tool and turret loading along with the most efficient machine optimization routines in the industry in order to reduce programming time and increase shop floor productivity.

ProFab V3.7 includes a long list of internal changes to increase the user's speed and productivity. Most noticeable is the Tool Library. "We moved the Tool Library from our own database into the industry standard Access database. This provides users the ability to access the Tool Library from other external programs and generate reports in their own format," said Joe Bucalo, President of Applied Production, Inc. "To assist our existing customers in converting their existing Tool Libraries, ProFab will automatically archive any existing Libraries and then convert them to the new Access format."

Other eye-catching features are the addition of more standard tool shapes and a Tool Wizard to make it easier to add or edit tools. ProFab is also capable of programming the Wilson Wheel for cutting and forming.

Working directly with the most popular CAD systems, ProFab eliminates the need to export and import data. During the installation of ProFab, an icon is added into the CAD system. The user simply picks the icon and the data is automatically transferred into ProFab. Once there, the user has access to the most powerful set of tools for programming a CNC turret machine. From automatically selecting the tools to nesting different parts on a single sheet, ProFab does the work while keeping the user in command of the machine operation.
