Telmap to Demonstrate Real-Time Traffic Data at CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment
CHICAGO, Sept. 11 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE:NVT), a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, today announced the availability of NAVTEQ Traffic Mobile(TM). This service provides continuously updated, average traffic flow speed as well as incident and construction information for 67 major metropolitan U.S. markets. NAVTEQ Traffic Mobile is available for GPS navigation applications, distributed via cellular network providers seeking subscriber relevant products and services.
Telmap, developer of the Telmap Navigator turn-by-turn navigation software, is a provider of the technology that delivers NAVTEQ's Traffic Mobile information to the user's navigation system. Telmap Navigator will be exhibited on various mobile devices and platforms at NAVTEQ's booth during the 2006 CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment convention opening today in Los Angeles. Telmap is the first company demonstrating NAVTEQ Traffic Mobile.
