Models 520 550, 570, and 595 iSeries(TM) Servers offer various I/O options and auxiliary write cache adapter that provides additional protection for customers using RAID-5 level disk protection. Mirrored storage feature includes I/O tower/drawer, redundant disk controllers, and 12 disk drives. Servers are also available with 141 Gb, 15,000 rpm disk drive and IOP-less adapter for cryptographic processing.

Overview
New I/O options, virtualization enhancements, and additional manufacturing customization further enhance and strengthen the IBM i5 product line.
New I/O options include:
An auxiliary write cache adapter for additional protection for customers using RAID-5 level disk protection
A mirrored storage offering that includes an I/O tower/drawer, redundant high-performance disk controllers, and twelve disk drives
A high-capacity 141GB, 15K rpm disk drive
An IOP-less adapter for cryptographic processing
Two virtualization enhancements:
Small and mid-sized customers can more easily create Linux(TM) partitions using i5/OS virtual partition manager.
Large customers have additional virtual I/O capabilities for Linux and AIX® 5L partitions with support for the Virtual I/O Server.
Now, IBM Manufacturing can provide customization of new model 570 and 595 servers to more closely match the hardware and partitioning configuration you want, before the server arrives at your site.
