IBM eServer i5 595 Delivers Fast 8-way to 64-way POWER5 Processing to High-End Servers

Overview

IBM eServer® i5 595 servers deliver the power to help your business:

· Reduce data center complexity
· Simplify IT infrastructure
· Meet IT service-level commitments effectively
· Implement on demand business innovations

The model 595 is a 8 to 64-way server with performance of up to 165,000 commercial processing workload (CPW).

A highly scalable, upgradeable industry-standard architecture helps support balanced growth, while IBM Capacity on Demand features enable you to switch on extra power at a moment's notice to handle surges in demand.

Supported by advanced virtualization technologies, model 595 servers are designed to run multiple operating systems and application environments simultaneously, including IBM i5/OS, Linux(TM), IBM AIX® 5L, Microsoft(TM) Windows(TM) (via an IXA or IXS), WebSphere®, and Lotus® Domino(TM) software.

Based on IBM POWER5(TM) processors - the ninth generation of IBM 64-bit processor technology - model 595 servers can enable large businesses to upgrade their processing power seamlessly while continuing to use their investments in storage and networking infrastructure.

A range of integrated workload management and Capacity on Demand features can enable businesses to adjust workloads and performance dynamically to meet constantly shifting priorities.

The workload management tools incorporated into i5/OS give you the option to run multiple subsystems. Administrators can enhance productivity by balancing the processing priorities for different applications running within the same operating system image.
