FrameRate® Announces Release 2.3 of Millennium(TM) ContentServer(TM)

DRAPER, Utah, Jan. 3 -- FrameRate today announced Release 2.3 of the Millennium ContentServer, a suite of products for television and dynamic digital signage networks.

ContentServer provides the ability to create, manage, distribute, schedule, and display rich multimedia content on one or thousands of remote displays. Being server-based, it meets the requirements of the most demanding networked digital signage applications as well as being cost effective for the single sign or a television channel.

Highlights of ContentServer(TM) Release 2.3

o Implementation of template-based QuickPost(TM) allowing one-button posting of amber alerts, homeland security alerts, or other important commercial or public safety announcements.

o Firewall and IT-friendly use of HTTP protocols without the security risks of older FTP protocols -- this means minimal, if any, IT department involvement during installation or operation.

o Adoption of "pull-technology" eliminates the security risk of pushing data into secure networks.

o Player-based MediaSync(TM) allows pausing and resumption of large file transfers if smaller files are published or if network connectivity is temporarily lost.

o Client-based Media Publisher allows interruptible batch file uploads to the ContentServer with automatic resumption after reboot or loss of network connection.

o Support for streaming video from local sources or web-based URLs.

o Improved MediaPlayer(TM) provides smooth and reliable operation on low-cost display computers.

o Multi-level undo for playlist or scheduling changes along with multiple group permissions.

o Support for mixed media playlists or "playlists of playlists."

o Added support for Kramer Electronics A/V switchers.

"Many digital signage solutions use older protocols or 'push technology' to deliver content. This release implements safer content distribution methods requested by IT departments everywhere," said James Harvey, President and CEO of FrameRate. "In addition, we've added MediaSync and Media Publisher, modules that provide interruptible media file transport to the ContentServer and to remote MediaPlayers. Finally, the implementation of QuickPost allows users to instantly override normal programming with emergency alerts, amber alerts, or homeland security warnings."

This release is available for immediate download by all FrameRate Technology Assurance Program subscribers. The product is distributed as on-premises software or as an on-demand application hosted in FrameRate's secure data center.
