Sensors have improved accuracy

Press Release Summary:

MediaSensor(TM) and MediaNugget(TM) sensor lines have improved accuracy rating to 0.5% and expanded pressure ranges from 15 to 3,000 psi. Micro-machined absolute pressure sensors for harsh and benign media include all-laser-welded stainless steel design for media isolation and custom ASIC. Options for OEM quantities are 5 V input with 0.5-4.5 V output; and 8-30 V input with 4-20 mA and 1-5 V output.

SSI Technologies Adds New Features to Pressure Sensors

Janesville, WI, August 2, 2002 - Several significant new features have been added to SSI Technologies' pressure sensor line, according to to Bill Day, Director of Marketing and Sales for Non-Automotive.

The MediaSensor(TM) and MediaNugget(TM) sensor lines have each received two major improvements - improved accuracy rating to 0.5% and expanded pressure ranges from 15 psi to 3,000 psi.

"Both of these improvements were the result of customer expectations and the expertise of our manufacturing group," states Day. "The improved accuracy rating is a direct result of improvements made in our internal manufacturing process. And, in the case of the expanded the pressure ranges, we were able to significantly modify the standard product."

SSI's line of bulk micro-machined absolute pressure sensors for both harsh and benign media represents a significant cost savings over currently available pressure sensors. These compact, robust sensors are well suited for a variety of automotive, industrial and commercial applications. Special features include all-laser-welded stainless steel design for media isolation; custom ASIC provides signal conditioning from calibration and temperature compensation; standard and custom option available for OEM quantities; 5 Volt input with 0.5 - 4.5 Volt output; and 8 - 30 Volt input with 4 - 20 mA & 1 -5 Volt output.

"An additional "unseen" benefit to the customer is that these improvements have not added cost to the product!" Day adds.

Customer sampling is currently underway with full production and shipping planned for September 1, 2002.
