IMS offers New Add-On, Self-Actuating Shutoff That Converts Standard Nozzles Into Shutoff Nozzles
CHAGRIN FALLS, OH, May 24, 2002-IMS Company announced the addition of an Add-On, Self-Actuating Shutoff to its line of nozzles and accessories for the injection molding industry. The new ½ to 160 oz. capacity Shutoff eliminates the need for expensive, single purpose nozzles. The new accessory is installed
between the nozzle body and the nozzle tip. In general, shutoffs minimize material drooling and stringing problems.
The new Shutoff, which is available only from IMS, offers a variety of desirable attributes. Made from H13 tool steel, the Shutoff withstands today's higher operating temperatures and packing pressures. An internal spring and piston shut off the plastic melt as the nozzle tip withdraws from the mold. Totally
self-contained, the Shutoff will not leak.
Overall length of the installed Shutoff is about 4½ inches. The Shutoff comes with standard 7/8"-14 female thread that will accept any standard nozzle tip.
