Selco's Capillary Thermostat Package Meets Temperature Control Requirements for Cold Refrigeration Transport
RENO, NV, - Controlling temperature sensitive cargo is essential in allowing consumers around the world to receive fresh produce, frozen foods, and other perishable chilled items at any time of year. Selco Products recently met the temperature control requirements for an OEM building reefers (refrigerated containers) for truck transport. While specific to the refrigerated truck application, the resulting refrigeration control solution can be used in a variety of climate controlled transport applications such as trailers, air and rail.
Key to the product's design specifications was a thermostat that provided drop-in-place installation and handled the required switch capacity. Selco's WK, WK-H and WP Thermostat Series complete with mounting hardware provided the ideal solution. Additionally, Selco's fast sample turn-around time and engineering support through ISO9001/AS9100 processes were equally important.
Selco's WK, WK-H and WP Cold Capillary Thermostats offer accurate temperature control, smooth adjusting and high reliability. These devices are mechanical switches that are activated by temperature change in the capillary tube sensor. The sensor is charged with a special refrigerant gas, this change is converted to travel via the bellows/diaphragm, which is actuated by the mechanical level switch closing on temperature rise. They can be used as temperature or defrost control elements with or without constant cut in.

Specific performance capabilities include operating temperatures of 0ºC - 40 ºC (WK Series), -35ºC to 40ºC (WK-H Series) and -30ºC to 55ºC (WP Series). Amperage capacities vary between models with the WK-H Series featuring the higher amperage of 25A. All three thermostat models are available with or without forced OFF and forced ON positions and with single-pole, single-throw (SPST) or single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switching contacts. UL, CSA, VDE approved and ROHS compliant.
The WK, WK-H and WP Thermostat Series are offered with a variety of bracket, terminal and adjustment shaft hardware options to accommodate a wide range of user requirements.
