Seamless Flooring System controls static electricity.

Press Release Summary:

Dex-O-Tex Electro-Flor coating systems are offered in static dissipative or conductive range. Static dissipative range drains static charges from personnel and eliminates charge generation. Conductive range carries electrical charges to ground in potentially flammable or explosive areas, with electrical resistance of 25,000-1 million ohms. Both chemical-resistant epoxy systems consist of bondcoat and topcoat and can be applied in thicknesses from 7-12 mils.

Dex-O-Tex New Electro-Flor Seamless Flooring System

Crossfield Products Corp., manufacturers of Dex-O-Tex Fluid-Applied Seamless Flooring and wallcoating systems, announces its Electro-Flor Series of floor and wall coating systems designed to control static electricity. The Electro-Flor systems provide static-free surfaces and are available in either a static dissipative or conductive range.

The static dissipative range is designed to drain static charges from personnel and virtually eliminate charge generation. It consists of a bondcoat and topcoat that resists a wide range of chemicals. Dex-O-Tex ESD floors can be applied in thicknesses ranging from 7 mils - 12 mils and is available in a variety of colors. The epoxy formulation means it is extremely tough, durable and abrasion resistant. It also resists most chemicals commonly used in the electronics industry and does not support combustion. ESD floors are designed to protect sensitive electronic components from damage caused from an electrostatic discharge, and widely used in the electronics, aerospace and telecommunications industries.

The conductive range is designed to rapidly carry electrical charges to ground in potentially flammable or explosive areas, with electrical resistance in the range of 25,000 - 1 million ohms. The system is applied at a thickness of 7 to 12 mils and consists of a bondcoat and topcoat which resists a wide range of chemicals. It is used to prevent explosions due to static charges, which can ignite vapors, powders or airborne dust. This flooring system is used in industries that store explosive chemicals such as arsenals or chemical plants that store flammable solvents in hazardous material storage spaces within all types of facilities. It is also ideal for power plants. The pharmaceutical industry, in particular, uses this type of protection to protect flammable powders.

The Electro-Flor Series consists of three different systems: Electro-Flor "100"- A 100% solids epoxy flooring that is high in gloss and very durable; Electro-Flor "CRU"- A chemical resistant urethane flooring that is high gloss, UV stable, and chemical resistant. This system is ideal for aerospace applications. Electro-Flor "W" is a water-based epoxy that creates a matte finish and can be applied on floors, walls and ceilings. All Electro-Flor Series meet ESD/ANSI Std. 7.1, NFPA 99 and ASTM F-150 standards and provide consistent electrical properties even in high traffic wear areas. They can be applied by squeegee, brush or roller and are easily maintained.

The Dex-O-Tex Division of Crossfield Products Corp. has manufactured static conductive flooring systems for more than fifty years. The Electro-Flor Series is a culmination of the many years of experience in this highly specialized segment of the flooring industry. Dex-O-Tex Electro-Flor is installed only by factory-trained applicators that are specifically trained in the proper application and testing of ESD and Conductive Flooring.
