Externally-Adjustable Mountz Ergo Micro Torque Screwdriver Reduces Injuries, Improves Efficiency

San Jose, CA - Responding to the increasing industry demand for ergonomically designed tools, Mountz, Inc. is introducing the Ergo Micro Torque (EMT) screwdriver. The latest refinement to the nation's leading torque tool suppliers' popular Micro Torque product line, the EMT sports a comfortable fatigue-reducing rubber grip designed to reduce ergonomic stress and externally adjustable settings that dramatically increase operator efficiency during multi-step processes.

In addition to the new ergonomic design, the EMT retains the key performance features of the original Micro Torque line. Together, the new micro-adjustable external adjustment ring and the existing "positive" locking system enable quick completion of individual torque operations while preventing incidental torque adjustments. The bi-directional cam design "slips free" when the specified torque setting is reached, completely eliminating the risk of over-tightening fasteners.

"The new Ergo Micro Torque is the latest demonstration of our ongoing commitment to providing the engineers, assemblers, technicians and calibration and quality control personnel in every discipline with the safest, most efficient tools available," explains Brad Mountz, President and CEO of San Jose-based Mountz, Inc.

Color coded rings allow for easy differentiation between the twenty-three individual EMT models, which cover a complete adjustment range from 0.5 ozf.in - 80 lbf.in. Incorporating a pull-down ring to engage the adjustment mechanism, a simple twist of the collar right or left increases or decreases torque respectively, while a precision radial ball clutch and cam allows for automatic resetting. A removable T-bar on larger models provides extra leverage without affecting accuracy.

A complete selection of practical accessories are also available for the EMT. Mountz' freewheel adapters "one way" feature uses a roller clutch to minimize backlash and drag. Interchangeable end fittings allow quick conversion between square male and female hex bits, eliminating the cost of buying two different handpieces. Bits and small steel parts can be instantly mag/demagnetized using permanent magnets stored in a shatterproof box constructed of durable ABS plastic.

Ergo Micro Torque screwdrivers are also available in kits, including an assortment of bits, that are an ideal choice for field maintenance, support and technical personnel. The EMT is also fully ESD compliant (IEC 61340-5-1:1998), making it ideal for sensitive electronic applications.

Thirty-eight years of experience manufacturing, marketing and servicing quality products are reflected in the quality craftsmanship and exacting performance of every Mountz torque tool that leaves the factory. Constructed from high quality materials, engineered for superior dependability, reliability and safety and backed by a standard warranty, compliance with IS06789:1992 ensures that each one meets the most rigorous standards.

"Accurate torque application offers a competitive advantage by minimizing process time, and the flexibility and vale of the Ergo Micro Torque deliver a rapid return on investment by cutting down on the number of tools required to do the job right. Our tools are built to become an integral part of your company's infrastructure, instead of being replaced every few years," says Mountz.
