GPS Enhances Servicepower's Service Network Optimization Suite

GPS functionality improves scheduling and tracking of vehicles and service personnel in the field

Annapolis, MD, March 29, 2006 -- ServicePower, a global developer and supplier of workforce optimization software for the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) market, today announced the release of ServiceGPS, a global positioning satellite (GPS) solution developed with technology provided by GE Security and TechnoCom Corporation. ServiceGPS is designed to monitor and report on key information related to field engineers and/or their vehicles, such as location, average speed, and travel distances. This information is then fed back into ServicePower's artificial intelligence based optimizer to schedule the most efficient routes for field engineers. Additional integration to navigation packages provides field engineers with turn-by-turn instructions to get them to the customer site as efficiently as possible.

"ServiceGPS is an exciting addition to the ServicePower suite of products," commented Ian MacKinnon, president of ServicePower Inc. "It can provide significant benefits to service organizations, enabling improved customer service through greater responsiveness, providing service managers with a complete view of the entire mobile workforce, reducing fuel costs, and enhancing the safety and security of both staff and vehicles," he added. Two contracts for the ServiceGPS technology, valued at over $3 million and won bidding against established suppliers, have already been signed with existing U.S. corporate clients.

"By using GE Security technology, ServicePower can provide a genuine solution for those customers who regularly need to make emergency changes to their daily schedules," said Gladys Nova, director of software solutions at GE Security. "ServicePower can also assign engineers to an emergency call-out or track down a stolen vehicle."

"Being able to provide access to the GPS on-vehicle processing module via remote control, enables sophisticated reprogramming and diagnostics to be performed without the need to touch the vehicle," commented John Elsner, director of product planning and strategy for TechnoCom. "The flexibility to change alerts and even data carriers remotely ensures a lower cost of ownership for the users of our devices."
