Zetec Introduces a High-speed Scanner for Rapid and Thorough Inspection of Small Diameter Holes for Aerospace Applications - The ZS-4
ISSAQUAH, WASHINGTON - Zetec, Inc., a leading supplier of nondestructive test (NDT) equipment introduces the ZS-4 High-Speed Scanner for inspection of small diameter holes, such as bolthole and fastener holes found in aerospace applications. Using eddy current technology, the ergonomically designed ZS-4 rapidly scans for cracks and flaws in small diameter holes - even in hard to reach areas. The scanner is designed for use with Zetec's MIZ®-21A, MIZ-21B, or MIZ-21SR Eddy Current Testers using the included quick-disconnect control cable. The ZS-4 weighs only 12 ounces (0.34kg) minimizing operator fatigue. Two conveniently located push buttons remotely control both the Hold (H) and Balance (B) functions on the connected instrument. When used with optional adapters, the ZS-4 is also compatible with the MIZ-17/27 series and the MIZ-40A. Red LED lamps, located on both sides of the scanner, inform the operator when an alarm condition has been reached. An internal YT trigger output allows synchronized YT display of flaw responses. Zetec probes, using the industry standard 4-pin Fischer connector which are easily interchanged, are wound as Reflection Differential (Driver Pick-up) for an improved signal to noise ratio. A three-position toggle switch sets rotational speed to 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm, or OFF.
