New Mobile Cart For Riegl LMS-Z210 3D Imaging Scanner Allows For Easier Scanning Of The Survey Site
ORLANDO, Florida -- A new and convenient mobile cart for safer and easier surveying of a site has been introduced by Riegl USA of Orlando, FL.
The Riegl Scan Cart, designed for the LMS-Z210 scanner, safely secures the scanner for quick mobility around the survey site. The Z210 scanner delivers 3-D image data for analysis at distances up to 700 meters (2310 ft.). The unit is a high speed alternative to traditional surveying methods. Common applications include monitoring of buildings, quarries, mines and accurate dimensional measurements of vessels, furnaces and tanks for wear analysis.
The new Riegl Scan Cart eliminates the need to hand carry the 13 kg (29 lb) LMS-Z210 scanner and other accessories such as the PC computer and power pack.
Consisting of two sets of large rear and front mounted rubber wheels for easy transport, the new scan cart includes strapping for attachment of the PC laptop and accessories. The laptop is secured to the cart by two adjustable brackets.
The Z210 is ideally mounted to a tripod that is quick-fastened to the Scan Cart.
For added stability, the tripod can be removed from the cart and used at ground level. During scanning, the cart locks into place to prevent movement.
After scanning, the tripod can be reattached to the Scan Cart and moved to the next position.
For travel in very rugged terrain, the scanner can be removed from the tripod and mounted below it on the cart base. A small platform at the base secures the scanner on the cart.
Weighing just 60 lbs, the durable steel tubing of the cart adds to the stability of the unit. Dimensions of the cart are 70" long x 19" wide. The scan cart is easy to assemble and includes detailed instructions.
LMS-Z210 3D Scanner Information
Riegl's LMS-Z210 3D imaging scanner includes a new True Color Channel enhancement that dramatically improves texturing of 3D Models by gathering additional color data that realistically portrays acquired targets.
The RGB Values are correlated exactly to each measurement pixel. This allows display of complete red/green/blue (RGB) target representations in modeling software packages such as Maya, BitWyse, Octree and 3D Studio Max. In addition it provides effective modeling calibration for high-resolution photography.
The Z210 scans a beam along two axes over any field of view. Using a high speed-rotating mirror to direct the laser beam over a precise pattern allows accurate three-dimensional scanning of the surface. In 30 seconds, up to 240,000 points can be mapped. Generating nearly 10,000 measurements per second, the result is a very densely populated point cloud of spatial measurements yielding an immediate and accurate 3-D representation of the scene.
Information is processed through an 8 bit parallel data output connected directly to the ECP compatible LDP printer port of a personal computer, laptop or equivalent. The personal computer can be equipped with RIEGL 3D-RiSCAN software for data acquisition and real-time display. This program allows the operator to perform a large number of tasks including sensor configuration, data acquisition, data visualization, data manipulation, and data archiving. 3D-RiSCAN runs on the WINDOWS NT4.0, 2000, and 98 platforms.
