DTI Joins 2.17 Starfabric Bandwagon With Intel Pentium III-Based Dual Use Compute Blade

New PlexSys cPB-4311 SBC optimized for Ethernet PSB and StarFabric Platforms

RIDGELAND, MS - January 20, 2003 - Diversified Technology, Inc. announced at the Bus & Board Conference today it is working with StarGen to develop an extension to DTI's PlexSys product line of switched fabric products. The cPB-4311 dual use compute blade - it is compliant with the both the 2.16 Ethernet PSB and 2.17 StarFabric environments - being demonstrated today is targeted at OEMs addressing embedded clustering and media gateway markets.

"As the first Intel-based SBC in the StarFarbic market space, it uniquely provides 2.16-based Ethernet communications or 2.17 mesh communications as either host or node blade" said Dennis Aldridge, SVP of Marketing for DTI. "Consider its use in a multi-segmented media gateway where in one segment the board is the control plane host processor and in another a host processor for media traffic."

"DTI is an important partner in the growing StarFabric ecosystem bringing their expertise in standard based SBC solutions. DTI's StarFabric SBC is playing a prominent role in the multivendor StarFabric demonstration at the Bus and Board Conference" said Tim Miller, VP of Marketing and Sales at StarGen, Inc. "The StarFabric community is showing a multi-vendor distributed topology that clearly shows the flexibility, scalability and performance of StarFabric."
