Company aims to grab more shares from USD 19.3 billion global business analytic software market

SAS, the leader in business intelligence and analytical software and services, has been named a leader in "The Forrester Wave(TM): Business Performance Solutions, Q4 2007" independent report from Forrester Research, Inc. published October 10, 2007. The company has also recently announced plans to provide deeper integration of SAS Analytics and Solutions within relational database engines in a move to target a larger share of the worldwide business analytic software market, which was valued at USD 19.3 billion in 2006 according to IDC reports.

Ranked by IDC as the second largest business analytics vendor in the world in terms of revenue - with global turnover of USD 1.9 billion in 2006 - SAS recognises the extensive growth opportunities in the EMEA region. Revenues from the region comprised 45 per cent of SAS's total worldwide income in 2006, as the EMEA market grew by 13 per cent in the same year. The exponential surge in data volumes has consequently motivated leading companies into making substantial investments in analytic solutions with regard to customer information, marketing, supply chain, financial risks and IT and operations, in an effort to gain advantage over competition. SAS intends to penetrate the burgeoning demand in the region through its highly successful packaged analytic and comprehensive enterprise intelligence platform whilst maintaining its dominance in the advanced analytics market.

The SAS® In-Database initiative will deliver improved accuracy, reduced data movement and more streamlined analytic processes to businesses with enterprise data warehouses to help speed the delivery of business intelligence throughout all levels of the organization. As a result, decision makers with faster access to analytical results will gain more insights into their businesses and make more agile and accurate decisions that comply with governance requirements.
