Sanner Debuts Market-Oriented Solutions at Interphex 2012 (Stand 2478)

Marlton, NJ, - Innovative, unique and user-friendly solutions: Sanner of America, the US subsidiary of Sanner GmbH, presents a showcase of its plastic packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries on May 1-3 at Interphex 2012 in New York. New products on display at Booth 2478 include Sanner's revolutionary and cost effective "360º" Capsules allowing moisture absorption regardless of capsule position and game-changing "StripTec One" test strip package for optimized test strip protection and improved dispensing action in a new sleek modern design. The global market leader for desiccant closures will also showcase its newest solutions in effervescent packaging.

The core product lines of German-based Sanner GmbH with headquarters in Bensheim and subsidiaries in China, Hungary, and the US are vials, desiccant stoppers, and flip top closures. The company's production operations meet the highest standards in accordance with GMP guidelines.

At Interphex 2012, Sanner presents a broad range of products and services - from standard packaging for the pharmaceutical industry to tailor-made solutions highlighting our value as a partner for contract manufacturing. Holger Frank, CEO Sanner, sees this year's premiere at the New York trade fair as a logical step in the company's strategy: "We want to further strengthen our market position as technology leader for pharmaceutical packaging specialized in injection molding techniques. Interphex gives us the opportunity to present our portfolio and services to an international trade audience and discuss the benefits of our market-oriented solutions face-to-face with customers and prospects."

Clean and Convenient

With "StripTec One" Sanner presents its latest development specifically designed for the test strip market including In-Vitro Diagnostics and water testing. To guarantee optimal performance of the test strips, protection from moisture is essential. Thanks to an integrated drying agent in the base of the vial, Sanner's oval shaped test strip packaging ensures optimum atmospheric conditions inside the package. The innovative package design and one-hand opening ensure user-friendly removal of the test strips and reduced risk of contamination. Its lean, space-saving, "lifestyle" shape compliments the design of new generation blood glucose monitors. "We continuously work to advance the development of our solutions," says Daniel Ingram, President, Sanner of America. "With our uniquely-shaped StripTec One, we meet leading customer's requirements for brand-differentiating test strip packaging that is effective, modern and cost efficient." StripTec One holds up to 50 blood glucose test strips and is used primarily for in-home diagnostics.

At Interphex, Sanner shows a selection of its wide range of tube and closure combinations for the general test strip market. The portfolio includes conventional solutions as well as test strip packaging with enhanced consumer convenience.

Superior Performance and Reduced Risk

Sanner also exhibits its "360º" Desiccant Capsules that provide moisture absorption from every angle. The capsules absorb moisture through a cardboard disc on the top as well as through a unique grid structure on the sides of the capsule. This ensures moisture absorption wherever the capsule is located in the container, even when it is on the cardboard side after the container is filled. Current desiccant canisters lose as much as 40% of their moisture absorption capacity when one end of the canister is blocked by the package side wall or its contents. Along with excellent drying properties, the "360º" Capsules address one of the most common over the counter consumer complaints - the unintentional ingestion of standard canisters on the market. Sanner's unique shape allows for easy differentiation from tablets or other solid-dose medications reducing the risk of inadvertent ingestion. "360º" Capsules are less likely to break open because the sides withstand greater pressure than competing products. Dust-free silica gel, activated carbon, molecular sieve or various combinations are available.

Furthermore, at Stand 2478, Sanner shows its brand new pocket-sized tablet container, TabTec, with a one-hand flip-top opening for dispensing tablets in a hygienic and convenient way. The slim-line profile facilitates the handling and optimally suits today's "on the go" lifestyle.

Besides these innovations, the pioneer in desiccant technology showcases its portfolio of effervescent packaging. Solutions in this segment are made up of a vial or tube and a stopper or lid with an integrated desiccant to absorb the moisture. "With 1,000 product variations we are the leading company in this market", says Holger Frank. "Effervescent packaging is currently more common in Europe but we see the potential for further growth in the US market."
