This new and unique product offers additional capabilities to the currently available NAS support already running within the market-proven STN- 5000 appliance. STW-iSCSI is the first solution in the industry to provide data compression transparently and universally to block-level accessed volumes. The product seamlessly acts as an add-on to storage systems and provides full support for any kind of IO access patterns (sequential, random, read, write, etc.) into the compressed data.
Based on Storewiz patent-pending technology, the Storewiz plug-and-play appliance compresses and decompresses data in real-time, while providing the highest degree of transparency in terms of functionality, performance and resources. It typically compresses the stored data to a third of its original space.
