SICK Launches M4000 Advanced Perimeter Guard

Minneapolis, Minn., - May 8, 2006. SICK, one of the world's leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems and automatic identification products for industrial applications, today announced the M4000 Advanced - an innovative access guarding solution with maximum work area availability.

The SICK M4000 Advanced offers safeguarding solutions for point of entry applications for access protection to conveyer systems, palletizing equipment, robotic work cells, and many other machine applications. The M4000 Advanced, together with the UE403 Muting Module, form an efficient solution for decentralized conventional muting applications involving automatic material transport. The M4000 Advanced and UE403 Muting Module are uniquely designed and optimized to easily integrate a wide variety of muting sensors.

The M4000 is ideal for guarding robot cells, manufacturing cells, an opening in a fence, and more. Using corner mirrors enables the M4000 to protect up to 4-sided applications, such as for an entire robot cell (360-degree protection). This new perimeter guard enables fast installation and easy commissioning - with no PC required. The integrated LED status indicator mounted on the end cap is visible from any direction, saving time.

The M4000 product family from SICK includes the M4000 Standard, M4000 Advanced and M4000 Advanced Active/Passive Advanced Multiple Beam Safety Light Curtains.
