Safety Controller features miniature, 45 mm wide design.

Press Release Summary:

Bridging gap between standard and programmable relays, PNOZmulti Mini performs machine control tasks and monitors 2 or more safety functions such as emergency stop, safety gates, and light beam devices. Software-configured unit comes with 20 inputs, 10 if device being monitored requires dual channel wiring and 4 semiconductor outputs, 2 if dual channel wiring is required. LCD provides on-site diagnostics, while push and turn operator control allows access to status and diagnostics messages.

Finally a Mini Me that Plays Nice

The PNOZmulti Mini bridges the gap between standard relays and programmable relays
Pilz Automation Safety L.P. now offers solutions for ALL sizes of applications. The new PNOZmulti Mini, PNOZmm0p, bridges the gap between the PNOZsigma relay and the PNOZmulti programmable relay. The Mini Multi is an economic solution when two or more functions require monitoring. The 45mm wide housing makes the Mini Multi one of the smallest units on the market, saving space in the control cabinets when just a few safety functions are needed. The Mini Multi was developed mainly for use in stand-alone machines. In addition to monitoring safety functions such as, emergency stop, safety gates and light beam devices, it can also perform machine control tasks, thanks to its logic functions.

The PNOZmulti Mini is a software configured safety controller. Inputs are configured using a simple, graphic based, software package which allows the user flexibility to choose the devices to be monitored. The Mini Multi comes with 20 inputs, 10 if the device being monitored requires dual channel wiring and four semiconductor outputs, two if dual channel wiring is required. These outputs, like the device itself, are designed to meet PL e ISO 133849 or SIL 3 IEC 61508. Though unlikely, should the PNOZmulti Mini need to be replaced, the din rail mounting, pluggable terminals and SIM card program storage allow for quick recommissioning. The chip card stores the entire configuration program and can be copied as many times as needed, allowing for easy storage of multiple copies of the program. The integrated LCD is ideal for rapid, onsite diagnostics, resulting in reduced downtime and simplified troubleshooting. The push and turn operator control allows users to easily access status and diagnostics messages quickly and easily directly on the control cabinet or machine without the use of a PC.

Configuration of the PNOZmulti Mini is simple. Inputs are configured using the PNOZmulti Configurator, a simple, graphic based software package which allows the user flexibility to choose the devices to be monitored. The software uses symbols, similar to function block diagram, for intuitive programming. The PNOZmulti configurator provides a clearly structured view of inputs, logic and outputs creating a simple overview of the project. The software provides descriptive and self-explanatory input/output variables (e.g. 1.i0 magnetic switch 1) for ease of use. Inputs/outputs within the program can be allocated immediately resulting in faster overall view of the project, easier programming, troubleshooting and allocation, saving the user time. Configuration of the elements is based on the required machine functions and the category that needs to be achieved. As safety functions require in-depth specialist knowledge, particularly in their design and implementation, certified safety blocks for hardware and software can make it easier to get machinery approved.

No matter the application, Pilz now has a solution for projects of all sizes.
