Rulon® Solutions for FDA Compliant Bearing



In addition to the well known Rulon® 641 material, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics' is offering a line of material solutions for FDA compliant bearings applications. The Rulon® 1337, is extremely wear resistant against lower hardness mating surfaces and Rulon® 1439 has excellent wear resistance in submerged applications. An explanation of material grades with a material selection guide, and a typical product and application description is outlined for three grades of Rulon FDA compliant materials in the Rulon® High Performance Fluoropolymers materials catalog. Rulon 641, 1439, and 1337 all have an excellent coefficient of friction, suitable for use with stainless steel and are available in standard or custom sizes. All Rulon® materials retain their critical properties over temperatures ranging from -400°F to + 550°F (-240° to +288°C ) for continuous operation, have a self-lubricating design and provide long maintenance-free service for the most demanding applications.
