New High Performance Rugged, Single-Slot SBC from Aitech Provides 2ESST VMEBUS Performance
Chatsworth, CA, October 2005 -- Aitech Defense Systems, Inc., a world leader in the development and manufacture of board and subsystem level products for harsh environment defense, aerospace and space applications, now offers the C6100, a high performance, ruggedized single board computer (SBC) that utilizes Motorola's new Tundra Tsi148 VMEbus interface chip. This enables the board's VMEbus to run at a practical bandwidth of 320 MB/s in most applications. The 2ESST capability, combined with the board's low power MPCC7457 G4 PowerPC® processor operating at 1.276 GHz, provides the highest performance and I/O versatility available in a rugged VME board.
The new C6100, which also offers support for dual PMCs, is ideal for intensive military, aerospace, and industrial applications that require supercomputing levels of performance, since it provides an open standard for convenient and flexible I/O expansion.
The processor incorporates DSP-like AltiVec technology, making the C6100 suitable for a variety of vector processing applications. In addition, the standard design of the new board enables its installation into any IEEE 1101.2 conduction-cooled VME chassis or ANSI/VITA 1-1994 standard air-cooled chassis, providing true commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) versatility for embedded system applications.
The C6100 supports legacy MVME761 and MVME712M I/O modules, provides up to 2 GB of DDR ECC protected SDRAM as well as 128 MB of on-board programmable user Flash, and features dual Ethernet interfaces, two asynchronous serial ports, real-time clock, four general purpose timers and a watchdog timer.
Pricing for the C6100 starts at $ 6,750. Delivery is 4-6 weeks ARO.
