The CARBONTEK(TM) 104
SARASOTA, November 31, 2003-ProDesign Solutions, LLC today announced the introduction of a new breed of ruggedized computers, the CARBONTEK(TM) 104 (patent pending). The CARBONTEK(TM) 104 handheld, fixed mounted or flush mounted carbon fiber computer was specifically designed for mission critical and harsh environments such as those found in construction, law enforcement military, marine and manufacturing industries. The product is capable of withstanding up to 300 G's and is also submersible 10 to 30 feet, depending on the model. All connectors and attachment points are completely water-tight.
The standard version of the CARBONTEK(TM) 104 is a complete PC system that includes Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP Professional, or Microsoft Windows XP Embedded and a 40GB spinning hard drive. However, the CARBONTEK(TM) can be custom configured to be used with any operating system, and can be upgraded to a solid state hard drive. The CARBONTEK(TM) 104 includes a modular processor system with various options ranging from Pentium I to 2.4 GHz Pentium 4. The system can be networked wirelessly or via a tethered LAN. The CARBONTEK(TM) 104 also includes a 10.4" sunlight readable display with resistive touch screen.
According to ProDesign Solutions' founder and President, Alan Taylor, "the CARBONTEK(TM) 104 is the first and only PC system constructed in a manner similar to the F-22, utilizing carbon fiber and aluminum bound by structural adhesive and aerospace fasteners." Typical applications include GPS/navigation, global tracking, and internet/e-mail/wireless communications. However, the CARBONTEK(TM) 104 can be modified to include various OEM applications and can be customized even in small quantities.
The CARBONTEK(TM) 104 is available in a wide variety of custom colors, finishes and natural carbon fiber. It also includes a detachable carbon fiber handle. Prices start at $3,300.00.
