New Seco-Carboloy Monobloc Rotary Tooling Meets Demands of Today's Machining Applications

Solid toolholders as accurate as machine's spindle minimize runout for improved quality and longer tool life at high cutting speeds

Warren, Michigan July 27, 2004 - Seco-Carboloy has introduced a new line of Monobloc rotary tooling that is designed to provide significant productivity and quality improvements in material removal operations. Available in a complete range of inch and metric dimensions in all popular rotary shank styles, Seco-Carboloy Monobloc tooling has minimal unbalance, the closest tolerance taper commercially available and material that can withstand a large range of force and speed changes without deformation. All tapers are manufactured to ISO tolerance AT3 and feature bright, ground surfaces.

Balance becomes important when trying to hold close tolerance bores even at traditional cutting speeds, let alone high spindle speeds over 8,000-10,000 rpm or more. Because many of the new toolholders are pre-balanced to 30 g x mm, plus Shrinkfit and 5872 style D collet chucks are fine-balanced to 3 g x mm, Seco-Carboloy Monobloc toolholders produce better parts and create less wear and tear on the machine spindle than conventional rotary toolholders. Monobloc toolholders also create less chatter and vibration, thus improving tool life and finish.

With the introduction of the new Monobloc rotary toolholders, Seco-Carboloy can now be responsible from the spindle to the cutting tool. Company engineers say that the new Monobloc tool holders are closely matched to cutting tool operating data as well as the tolerances used by manufacturers of today's machine tool spindles. Providing a more accurate spindle interface improves rigidity. And by controlling and minimizing runout cutting tools such as Seco-Carboloy's solid carbide drills can be expected to perform optimally.

Seco-Carboloy Monobloc toolholders are available in a wide range of front end types and standard taper types including HSK-A and -E, ANSI CAT and CAT/DIN combined, BT, and DIN, as well as shrink-fit toolholders for use with the company's new EasyShrink(TM) induction heating unit. The Monobloc line features a new E5525 face mill holder specifically designed for through-coolant to complement Seco-Carboloy's line of milling cutters with coolant through capability.

Complete information on the new line of Monobloc rotary toolholders is available by contacting Seco-Carboloy at 11177 East Eight Mile Road, Warren, Mich. 48089. Tel: 800-832-8326 or visiting www.carboloy.com.
