Rotary Position Sensor measures angular displacement.

Press Release Summary:

Contactless R1380 inductive sensor measures angular position up to 100° of rotation, making it suitable for displacement measurement of rotating elements such as valves, dampers, and sorters. It is available with analog voltage and 4-20 mA outputs, is able to rotate full 360°, has IP66 environmental rating, and can operate in temperatures from 0 to 185°F. Adjustable span and zero controls are sealed, making them splash proof.

Original Press Release:

DC-Operated Inductive Rotary Position Sensor Feature Contactless Operation, with Multiple I/O Configurations

Pennsauken, NJ, June 18, 2002. Macro Sensors introduces the R1380 Series of Contactless Rotary Position Sensors for angular displacement measurement of rotating elements such as valves, dampers and sorters (such as those used on postal machines). Available in various electrical configurations including analog voltage and 4-20mA outputs, the units are adaptable to a variety of process control and industrial applications.

Able to rotate a full 360°, the R1380 rotary position sensors measure angular position up to 100°. Units are rated for a ±50° or 0° to 100° measurement range and provide linearity of ±0.25%. Utilizing contactless inductive technology, the rotary position sensors are highly accurate and reliable.

Other significant features of the Ri 360 series include:

- A convenient rugged mounting flange permits fine mechanical adjustment of the initial zero position.

- Adjustable span and zero controls are sealed, making them splash proof.

- Units have no slip rings or rotors to wear out unlike other types of rotary position sensors.

Environmentally robust, units hold an IP66 environmental rating and can operate in diverse temperatures ranging from 0°F to 185°F (-20°C to +85°C). Contemporary ASIC-based electronics, printed circuit coils and conductive spoilers also provide for exceptional price/performance characteristics.

Standard unit electronics operate from ±15V DC and yield a ±10V DC output. Other optional electrical configurations include a regulated 5V DC input with 0.5 to 4.5V DC output that is ideal for mobile applications such agricultural and industrial vehicles (such as stackers). Two- or three-wire 4-20mA output units support various process applications with or without external power sources. Units provide a low noise output ideal for programmable logic controllers.

Pricing for the R-1380 Series Rotary Position Sensors begin at $495.00. Quantity discounts are available. For price and delivery information, please contact Eileen Ellis at 856-662-8000/ email: sales@macrosensors.com or visit our web site at www.macrosensors.com.
