Rotary Encoder with Brushless Commutation Outputs
Renco Encoders, Inc. of Goleta, CA; announces its RCM15, a 1.5" diameter rotary optical encoder with commutation. The RCM15 combines brushless motor commutation pulses and incremental position feedback in a single optical encoder. A single LED and sensor arrangement reduce cost while improving performance and reliability of the brushless motor/encoder package.
The RCM15 features RENCO's patented slide/gap mechanism for ease of installation and maximum performance. A built-in servo groove allows ±20° rotation of the encoder to align the commutation tracks with the motor poles.
