New Series of Rotating Jaw Grippers from Techno-Sommer Designed to Rotate Parts

New Hyde Park, NY -- Eight new rotating jaws for parallel grippers from Techno-Sommer Automatic have the unique ability to both grip and turn parts simultaneously thereby shortening production cycle times by up to 50%. Identified as the SB Series, these standardized off-the-shelf units can be fitted to most parallel grippers and handling systems. They eliminate the need to design special costly fixtures which might include rotary actuators, etc. to achieve a similar result. Sizes range from models capable of handling hypodermic needles to the larger sizes designed to pick-up and rotate heavy parts such as complete automotive engine blocks. Three models in the SB Series use synchronous belt drives and five models are geartrain driven. Torques range from 0.09 ft-lbs up to 42.0 ft-lbs. Position sensors to sense position are available for all models. One of the models is available with hydraulic drive.

These units are available on a special free trial evaluation basis. In addition, a free .DXF CAD file drawing of this unit is available for downloading through the Techno technical support BBS or via a disk sent by mail.
