Heidenhain's Newest Rotary Encoder, Well-suited for the Electronics Industry
SCHAUMBURG, IL - (November 2004) - HEIDENHAIN Corporation's latest rotary encoder-the ERO 1470 -- is now available without integral bearing and with integrated interpolation electronics, making this encoder especially well-suited for motors used in the electronics industry. Among the applications possible for use with this encoder are those in handling and PCB assembly machines, for example.
In these type of motor applications, the interface of the subsequent electronics is often purely digital (TTL interface), the installation space for the encoder is limited and a high resolution and repeatability is required for positioning of the components. This new HEIDENHAIN ERO 1470 encoder, displaying up to 25-fold interpolation of the scanning signals, makes it a perfect encoder for these uses.
Specifications of HEIDENHAIN's miniature ERO 1470 include an installation diameter requirement of 44 mm. The shaft diameters offered with this encoder are 4 mm, 6 mm or 8 mm with line counts of either 1,000 or 1,500.
The ERO 1470 also comes with a special integral mounting aid used for centering and scanning gaps.
